New Tom Tom Club music
While the Talking Heads are in the midst of their 30th anniversary celebration,
spinoff the Tom Tom Club are working on new music. Drummer Chris Frantz, who
started the Tom Tom Club with his wife, bassist and vocalist Tina Weymouth, used
a rotating group of musicians. The sixth studio album is expected to be out in
the fall. It will not be a regular full album but more like an EP. The effort is
the first since "The Good, The Bad and The Funky" from 2000. The Tom Tom Club's
new material includes a remake of "Love Tape" by the Spanish electronica group
the Pinker Tones.
Metallica and Lou Reed collaborate on new album Lulu
Metallica and Lou Reed’s collaborative album will be titled “Lulu” and is set
for an October 31 release date. More info can be found at
www.loureedmetallica.com. According to the Website, the album was inspired by
German expressionist writer Frank Wededkind's plays “Earth Spirit” and
“Pandora's Box”, which tell a story of a young abused dancer's life and
relationships. Some of the 10 tracks on the album include “Pumping Blood”,
“Mistress Dread” and “Junior Dad”.
The-Dream to releases free online album
The-Dream has released a new online album titled "1977. The effort is available
as a free download. Released under his birth name, Terius Nash, "1977" follows
last year's "Love King" album and was. Big Sean and Pharrell Williams are among
the guest stars. Meanwhile, Nash has announced that his next proper album "The
Love, IV (Diary Of A Mad Man)", that was originally planned for September 20,
has been delayed.
New Keyshia Cole album planned for December
Keyshia Cole is working on the follow up album to her album "Calling All Hearts"
(2010). Keyshia has finished a few tracks already and is planning to release new
music in December.
New Aerosmith album set for May 2012
Aerosmith producer Jack Douglas has revealed that the band's new album will be "nasty"
and "raw" again. The band has been recording new music this summer and a new
album is expected in May 2012. Aerosmith will finish work in January 2012 after
touring South America and Japan in October, November and December. The new
effort will be the follow-up “Honkin' On Bobo” from 2004. |
