New Gloria Estefan
album Miss Little Havana out
After four year, Gloria Estefan is back with an English-language album again,
titled "Miss Little Havana." It is Estefan’s 14th studio album on which she
worked with Pharrell Williams as executive producer. Due to Pharrell’s
involvement "Miss Little Havana" has become sort of a dance album. Estefan's
daugher Emily Marie makes her guitarist debut on the album.
The Cure perform first three albums live
The Cure will perform their debut album “Three Imaginary Boys” from 1979 and its
follow ups “Seventeen Seconds” from 1980 and “Faith” from 1981 in their entirety
live at London's Royal Albert Hall on November 15. It is a follow-up to similar
shows performed in Australia earlier this year and the band will also repeat the
special concert in the US in November. Each album set will last approximately 40
minutes.
New Far East Movement album planned for early 2012
After a succesful year, hip-hop group Far East Movement is planning to release
their next album early next year. The band will be working on the effort in the
next two months. Last October, the Asian-American group released its debut album
"Free Wired," which has sold 162,000 copies in the US. Hit single "Like A G6"
spent three weeks on top of the US singles chart. And has sold 3.7 million
downloads.
New album Oceania last chance for Smashing Pumpkins
Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan has said that the release of their new
album “Oceanis” will be the last chance for the band. The band, who have taken
to releasing single tracks online as part of their strategy, will release “Oceania”,
their 9th studio album, later this year. According to Corgan how the effort is
received will define the future of the band. Corgan has said that he
overestimated the impact that releasing music straight on to the internet would
have and felt that he needed to go back to making an album in the traditional
manner again to have a real impact.
LeAnn Rimes releases covers album
Country classics "He Stopped Loving Her Today" and "When I Call Your Name" are
two of the songs that feature on the album of covers that Rimes is releasing.
Rimes has said that this style of country music is still very close to her heart.
In addition to the classics mentioned above, Rimes also covered 1966's "The
Bottle Let Me Down" and 1970's "I Can't Be Myself." Vince Gill produced the new
